Software Engineer for Quantum Optimization

Quantum computing is poised to become the next major business disruption technology. Gartner predicts that by 2023, 20% of organizations will be budgeting for quantum computing projects, compared to less than 1% today. Getting in on the ground floor means that you can ride the next wave of technological innovation and investment. QC Ware is looking for a backend software engineer to join its Quantum Optimization team. In this role, you will work with quantum scientists and quantum engineers to integrate quantum optimization algorithms into Forge — QC Ware’s quantum computing SaaS product.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be the interface between the algorithm developers of the Quantum Optimization team and Forge’s software engineering group. Specifically, the successful candidate will:

  • Work directly with QC Ware’s quantum scientists  and engineers to integrate new quantum algorithms into Forge.
  • Write thorough tests and documentation for quantum optimization functionality.
  • Maintain and improve upon our codebase as directed by quantum researchers.
  • Update functionality to fit Forge’s evolving infrastructure.
  • Work on demo notebooks to highlight optimization features.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a software engineer
  • Professional experience with Python
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant technical discipline such as physics, computer science, mathematics, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills: as a bridge between two departments, you must understand concerns from both and you must communicate those concerns to the appropriate parties accurately.
  • Interest in quantum computing
  • Experience with APIs
