Description

QC Ware is seeking a talented and passionate DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team to support Promethium, our growing molecular discovery platform. As part of the team, you will work in a fast-paced environment building reliable, scalable infrastructure and ensuring smooth development operations. This role offers significant influence over our DevOps practices and the opportunity to work with modern technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, and NVIDIA GPUs.

Responsibilities

Role

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS to ensure Promethium is secure, performant, reliable, and scalable
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software delivery
  • Manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes (AWS EKS), including cluster administration, deployments, and troubleshooting
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions; proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues
  • Contribute to team-wide efforts to maintain compliance with required standards, such as ISO 27001. Apply security best practices to ensure company and product security
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with engineering teams to improve operational efficiency
  • Document infrastructure architecture, runbooks, and processes; share knowledge across the team
  • Participate in on-call rotation to maintain platform reliability and respond to production incidents

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3+ years of hands-on DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering experience
  • Strong experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production, including deployments, scaling, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
  • Ability to program in Python or Go
  • Strong understanding of containerization
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GCP or Azure in addition to AWS
  • Background working in SOC 2 or ISO 27001-compliant environments
  • Familiarity with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd, Kong Mesh)
  • Experience supporting GPU workloads or HPC environments
  • Knowledge of GitOps practices (ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog

Compensation

Base Salary

$140,000 - $160,000

In addition to competitive base salaries, qualified candidates are eligible for participation in a corporate bonus program and equity.

Salary may vary by location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
